E-validation in elderly care

- a tool to make skills visible, boost individual self-confidence and increase well-being?

The purpose is to study whether individually adapted skills development and E-validation lead to a better working environment for employees in elderly care in Sandviken municipality.

The pre-project / part 1 concerned new technology / new educational and reality-based E-validation to map the real skills of staff who lack formal skills in elderly care.

The European Social Fund has received SEK 300,000 for the implementation of the validation and SEK 1,100,000 for the implementation of the project. The project has also been awarded SEK 688,844 from AFA Insurance for research.

Staff (n = 87) who have undergone both practical and theoretical validation with unsatisfactory results have been offered individualized skills development based on the results of the tests, which means that effects over time, a total of 1 year, will be studied after the skills development has been completed. Effect measures that affect the organization are also studied.

Duration 2008-2012.
