I am a senior lecturer in environmental science with a focus on sustainablity science. My PhD (1996, University of East Anglia) is in environmental chemistry. Since then, I have worked in the UK and in Sweden researching human-caused global environmental changes and the science-policy-society interfaces that are involved in global sustainability governance. I joined the University of Gävle in March 2026. At HiG, I teach on the Masters programme in sustainabilty science – environment and decision-making, and I supervise postgraduate research students.
My research is interdisciplinary, usually taking a critical social-ecological systems approach. I am also interested in the strategic, practical and philosophical aspects of doing interdisciplinarity research.
