Retrieve your HiG Card
The University of Gävle uses an access card, the HiG Card. You use it to enter the computer rooms and to make printouts. You can pick up the card at the reception after you have created your user account.
The HiG Card has several uses
In order to retrieve your card you must be registered on your first course and have a valid form of identification. The card is free for all students and has two uses. HiG stands for Högskolan i Gävle, which is Swedish for University of Gävle.
Entrance Card
The HiG card is an access card. As a student, you can use the HiG card to enter the university every day between 05.00 and 24.00. You also have access to the university's general computer rooms.
Copying and Printing
There are several copying and printing machines around campus that you can use with your HiG Card.
Get your HiG Card
There are two ways to collect your HiG Card:
- Pick up your HiG Card at the reception. You must be registered in Ladok and be able to identify yourself in order to collect the card.
- If you are a distance learning student, you can order your HiG Card at etools.hig.se, where you can log in with your user account and password. You must be registered in Ladok to order your card. The HiG Card will be sent home to your population registration address. The estimated processing time is 1–3 days plus postage.
Please note that if you wish to collect up your HiG Card from the reception, you should not order your card from etools.se.
