Welcome to the course Future Environment, Health and Work!
The course is on advanced level. It is an internetbased distance course with 100 % studypace week 36-45. The studies are based on individual responsibility, active search for knowledge, critical approach and reflection. We will have the introduction lecture September 3rd on Zoom, at 10:15-12.
Besides the lectures we will have discussions about the literature. The course will be examined through written text.
The examination of module 1 and 2 goes hand in hand: all literature is read during the first part of the course and is then applied in a project work during the second part of the course.
As you may have noticed, the course literature has both English and Swedish literature. The following books and sites are proposed as relevant instead of the Swedish titles if you are English speaking, but you may also propose books to me and we will together see what will be suitable for you.
Articles will be presented on Canvas in addition.
We use a learning platform called Canvas for communication and there you will find the study guidance, a detailed schedule, assignments, articles and more. If you are not familiar with Canvas, take a look here: https://www.hig.se/engelska/university-of-gavle/student/during-your-studies/services-and-systems/snabbguider/lc-guider/canvas External link.
The lectures will be given via the distance tool Zoom. If you are not familiar with Zoom, more information can be found here https://www.hig.se/engelska/university-of-gavle/student/during-your-studies/services-and-systems/snabbguider/lc-guider/web-meetings-with-zoom External link.
Now I wish you a nice summer and look forward to seeing you in September! Best wishes/Ann-Kristin “Mimmi” Eriksson
