Information from the course co-ordinator
Individual skills, social processes, the cultural climate and religious movements affect leadership. During the course Leadership - individual, society, culture and religion 15 credits, we approach leadership contextually. This means that we work with work- and life-related issues and try to look at questions and dilemmas from the bottom up perspective. Individuals are in interaction with their surroundings; we affect and we are affected; we influence and are influenced. The areas we touch are culture and religion and their interplay, ethics and values, philosophy of life and human perception, language and attitude, organization, organizational structures and leadership theories. The way human mentality is shaped and formed by societal and cultural influences is an important area of explication. The course will include non-mandatory seminars. It is part of the Master programme in Religious Studies at the University of Gävle, but can also be read as an independent course. Seminars will be given the following Tuesdays between 10:15 - 12.00 AM: 21/1, 4/2, 18/2, 4/3 and 18/3.
We will use both Canvas and e-mail (jri@hig.se) as means of communication during the course. You are able to see the seminars in real time through Zoom or afterwards as recorded in Canvas. Please, download the zoom app in your device!
