Degree of Bachelor of Science in Engineering

As an automation engineer, you'll have an exciting role solving technical problems and creating control and monitoring systems. You will work on everything from electronics design and programming to testing, measuring and commissioning advanced automation systems. You may also take a leading role in projects, participate in expert groups and train others.

To be successful in automation, you will need knowledge of metrology, control engineering, robotics and process knowledge. You will also learn engineering tools such as CAD, production management and safety work.

The program begins with an introductory year where, together with other engineering students, you build a foundation by studying technology, mathematics and engineering support subjects. You then delve into areas such as automation, smart systems and robotics. The programme concludes with a methods course and a thesis that brings your knowledge together.

After graduation, you will have the opportunity to work in the process and manufacturing industries, the real estate sector or as a consultant. You can take on roles such as development engineer, project manager, operations engineer or production manager.
