In this programme, you will gain a general competence in working with people in social as well as caring contexts. Morevoer, you will gain a special competence in working with cultural encounters in various ways. In a multicultural world, this knowledge is valuable within most professions.

With the in-depth knowledge of religion and ideology, which the programme provides, you will be particularly suited to work within caring and cultural professions. Your aquired skills will also prepare you to work witihin congregations, municipalities and in government services like for example libraries, the Swedish Migration Agency or at Sweden's Public Employment Agency. This programme is also a rewarding complement for teachers, journalists, Human Resources specialists and similar professions.

The programme is given in the form of web-based distance learning via local study centres, but you may also follow the programme through a computer from home or on campus in Gävle. You can also study the programme on campus in Gävle. The study centres that are to be used will be selected when the programme starts. Contact your study centre prior to applying to the programme.

When you have completed the programme, you will have the opportunity to apply to the Master programme in Religious Studies at the University of Gävle.
