Master in Business Studies: Sustainable International Business 60 cr

A programme for those who want to make a difference in the future. Upon completion, you can work in a new and growing labour market or continue in the field of academia.

In our one-year Master Program in Business Studies focused on Sustainable inter­national Business, you will have the opportunity to develop business skills, and acquire knowledge in the field of sustainable international management and marketing. You will assess different business environments and develop a critical approach to sustainable international business.

  • Sustainability Management
  • Cross-Cultural Management: Scandinavian Perspective
  • Contemporary Perspective in Marketing Management
  • Global Markets & Marketing Strategies
  • Advanced Academic Writing in Business Studies
  • Master Thesis: Research Method & Thesis Writing “Sustainability Management”

During the program, you can expect to be a part of a diverse group of students with different experiences bring the benefit of various range of views and perspectives into the classroom. As well as close relationships with faculty members with active research in sustainability and international business.

Potential academic career

The program prepares you to acquire skills required for a potential academic career such as pursuing Ph.D. studies in business studies. As well as career in the dynamic field of international business and sustainability across multiple sectors and industries, for example career in sustainability management, where you can help ensure, a company develop an accountability in social and environmental effects.

The future labour market is for those who wants to make an impact

As society becomes more educated on the importance of sustainability, consumer demands are changing. More and more consumers are asking for sustainable products and making a conscious effort to live sustainably and choose green brands. Therefore, growing number of corporations from a wide range of industries, including transportation, utilities, consumer goods, and real estate, are pursuing sustainable management business goals.

There is consistent push from the government, world organizations and society to encourage more firms across the globe to adopt corporate sustainability management practices if they have not done so already.

Furthermore, increased corporations are seeing the benefit of effective corporate sustainability management.

This brings to the good news that the future workplace offers plenty of diverse opportunities for those who hope to make an impact. Businesses are reacting by creating new roles focused on developing sustainability practices and solutions in every function in the firm.

Because these roles are relatively new, the playing field is even which does not require so much previous job experience and it is a path that will continue to grow over the next few years.

Prerequisites

  • A completed Bachelor's degree, corresponding to a Swedish Bachelor's degree (180 ECTS), or equivalent academic qualifications from an internationally recognised university. 
  • Business Administration as Major (90 ECTS) or equivalent with courses (at least 30 ECTS) in organization, marketing, international business, or related subjects.
  • English language proficiency equivalent to (the Swedish upper secondary school) English course 6.
