EU GREEN newsletter summarizes the fall and looks ahead to 2026
Shortly before Christmas, the final newsletter of the year was published by EU GREEN – a European university alliance of which the University of Gävle is a member. This time, the University of Gävle was responsible for editing the newsletter. The newsletter provides examples of current collaborations within the alliance and highlights upcoming opportunities in 2026.

EU GREEN is a European university alliance that brings together nine universities with a common goal: to strengthen sustainability, inclusion, and innovation in higher education, research, and collaboration. Joint initiatives create new opportunities for students, researchers, and staff to collaborate across national borders.
The latest newsletter highlights several activities from autumn 2025 and the international collaboration within EU GREEN. Among other things, the rectors of the universities of Parma, Angers, and Gävle share their perspectives on sustainable development and European higher education. The newsletter also highlights a concrete example of research exchange, where David Conde-Caballero from the University of Extremadura spent four months at the University of Gävle to deepen his research on loneliness, health, and aging.
The newsletter also looks ahead to 2026 and presents several upcoming activities and opportunities, such as the first EU GREEN Student Conference on March 6–7, 2026, international internship and mobility programs, and initiatives for doctoral students, teachers, and researchers.
The newsletter provides an overview of how EU GREEN contributes to a more cohesive and sustainable European university landscape—and how the collaboration continues to develop.
