The University Board and management of the University

The responsibilities of the University Board are regulated by the Higher Education Act and the Higher Education Ordinance. The Vice-Chancellor, who serves as the head of the authority, holds the overarching responsibility for leading the operations. The Pro-Vice-Chancellor acts as the Vice-Chancellor’s deputy and has a particular focus on research and collaboration. Additionally, there are three Deputy Vice-Chancellors who provide strategic management support to the Vice-Chancellor, each focusing on specific areas: quality and sustainability, internationalisation, and the EU GREEN university collaboration and Vice-Chancellor's Management Council.

The University also has a dedicated archival organisation and a Centre for Teaching and learning.

The University's education, research, and collaboration with the surrounding society are organised into three faculties:

Boards and Councils

The University’s organisation includes other types of both preparatory and decision-making bodies. The University’s collegial structure consists of a central faculty board, Education and Research Board (UFN), and three local faculty boards, UFN plays a central role in the University’s quality assurance efforts.
