Postgraduate Diploma in Specialist Nursing : Anaesthesia Care

Add specialist skills to your nursing qualification

As an anaesthetic nurse in a clinic you will work with patients who have been anaesthetised and supervise them in operations and examinations. To be able to work independently as an anaesthetist the qualification required is the Specialist Nursing Programme.

Trained Specialist nurses are highly sought after

The course leads to a Specialist Nursing qualification with the emphasis on Anaesthesia.

According to employment offices the demand for these skills is already high and will increase. This is due to fact that many nurses have reached retirement age and highly qualified nurses are sought after within many different fields.

Broad field of work

On completion of the course you will be able to work within surgical care, or as a paramedic, at a pain management clinic and a disaster area whether nationally or internationally. As an anaesthetic nurse you could even be part of a helicopter rescue team involved in national emergencies.

The University of Gävle has extensive experience in educating specialist nurses.
