Dear Student,
Welcome to the University of Gävle and the Bachelor of Science programme in Social Work Specialization International Social Work 180 cr.
The first course you will attend is SAG030 Social Work & Social Problems (Campus-based course in English). Upon successful completion of this course, you will be awarded 15 Higher Education Credits (HECs).
We will try to use a variety of pedagogical methodologies such as lectures, live discussion and student support, group-work, reflective learning, academic publications' reviews, and field-study visits and report, Q&As.
Communication with students will be foremost through the learning platform Canvas, via discussions. In addition to meeting in person, communication can also be through email and Zoom software.
IMPORTANT: When the course begins you need to have all the course literature available for you. The most common way for a student is to buy them.
When ordering a book online it can take up to 2-4 weeks to receive it. Therefore, buy your books in advance.
