Become an EU GREEN Student Ambassador
Would you like to make new international connections, get involved in issues such as sustainability, inclusion and innovation, and help shape the role of students within EU GREEN? As a Student Ambassador, you will become part of a European network of students from nine universities.

Applications are now open for the EU GREEN Student Ambassador Programme for the 2026/2027 academic year. The University of Gävle can appoint up to 15 Student Ambassadors across five different areas.
What does being a Student Ambassador involve?
As a Student Ambassador, you represent both the University of Gävle and EU GREEN. You contribute to strengthening student participation, communication and engagement across the Alliance and help spread information about opportunities and initiatives within EU GREEN.
You become part of a European university community focused on sustainability, inclusion, innovation, education, research and international cooperation. Ambassadors collaborate with students and university staff across Europe and may have the opportunity to take part in international meetings, workshops, training sessions and networking activities.
The role also gives you the opportunity to develop skills in areas such as leadership, communication, teamwork, organisation and intercultural collaboration. You gain practical experience in communication and student engagement and have the opportunity to build an international professional network.
Five areas to choose from
You apply to become a Student Ambassador in one of five areas. The University of Gävle can appoint a maximum of three Student Ambassadors in each area.
- Mobility: share information about international mobility opportunities and your own experiences of student mobility.
- Innovation: contribute to innovation and different innovation initiatives.
- Inclusion: support work on inclusion and help share good practices within EU GREEN.
- Social Engagement: contribute to activities related to social engagement and collaboration with different stakeholders.
- Campus: highlight your own campus and share good practices from the university and the region.
Who can apply?
The programme is open to bachelor's, master's and doctoral students from all fields of study.
You need to have at least B1-level English. B2 level or higher is considered an advantage. You should also have good communication and teamwork skills, be comfortable using social media and digital communication tools, and be able to work in international and multicultural environments.
Previous knowledge of EU GREEN is an advantage but not a requirement. You can also apply if you are motivated and willing to learn more about the Alliance in preparation for the role.
How to apply
Applications are submitted through the EU GREEN application form. As part of your application, you will be asked to provide information about your studies and explain why you would like to become a Student Ambassador.
Applications are assessed by the University of Gävle. The assessment takes into account factors including academic performance, motivation, previous academic and extracurricular engagement, communication skills, and how well your motivation aligns with the goals and values of EU GREEN.
Application deadline: 16 October 2026.
Good to know
The Student Ambassador role is voluntary and does not constitute employment by EU GREEN or any of its partner universities.
Subject to available funding, Student Ambassadors may have the opportunity to participate in international activities, events and training within EU GREEN. Financial support cannot be guaranteed.
