Academic Ceremonies

At the academic ceremonies of University of Gävle, we confer honorary doctorates, new doctoral degrees and inaugurate new professors as well as award prices and bestow honours.

The University of Gävle was established in 1977, and as a relatively young higher learning institution, we would like to uphold old traditions while creating our own history and identity. Our academic ceremony is held every other year and combines conferment of doctoral degrees and inauguration of new professors.
