Barbara Undervill is a doctoral student in the Change Graduate School. Her project, “Together: The Reciprocal Interactions of Mid-Level Managers in Everyday Work Life,” explores how reciprocity in the interactions among fellow managers in the workplace promotes the creation of a positive organizational and social work environment. Through knowledge and new methods, we aim to contribute to a sustainable work life for these middle managers.
The project will study interactions within middle managers’ joint leadership forums based on theories of collective capacity. A work group’s collective competence means, on the one hand, that the individuals in the group view themselves as a collective unit and, on the other hand, that they have a well-developed ability to interact as a collective unit.
