Karin has a Master of Philosophy in Nursing and is a registered nurse and district nurse.
The overall aim of the PhD project is to study the structural conditions of the work of employees and first-line managers in Swedish emergency care, as well as their well-being and effectiveness. The project is planned to include four data collections in medical and surgical units in public and private healthcare in the country. Data from a survey, observation and interview study have been collected for the first two sub-studies. The other two sub-studies are currently planned as interview studies.
The project is expected to contribute with in-depth knowledge of the structural conditions in Swedish emergency care that may be of importance for the work, well-being and efficiency of healthcare professionals and first-line managers. These results could be used in the work of developing and improving the work situation and quality of care in Swedish emergency care.
