Network for large-scale modeling

The project Network for large-scale modeling is supported by the Swedish Institute (SI) within the framework of the program Seed funding (cooperation in the Baltic Sea Region). The main applicant is University of Gävle, Sweden.

The project focuses on the preparation of application for a boost of Baltic and European infrastructures to be funded by Horizon 2020. The project aims at highly developed research based on the most advanced mathematical and numerical methods and high-performance computations and software that use supercomputers and experimental studies.

The project concerns the expansion and strengthening of existing networks that include all three top universities in Russia and aimed towards the integration of actions to ensure access to unique research expertise and high-performance computing centers with advanced frontier for large-scale modeling in science.

The project objectives are to promote mutual and long-term collaborations between partners in Sweden and Baltic countries and the existing infrastructure and research groups, providing access and integrated services for researchers in Europe and beyond for supercomputer clusters and computer codes implemented in the infrastructure's facilities.
