Emma Hellström

Emma Hellström holds a Ph.D. in the sociology of education. In April 2025, she defended her dissertation, *The Struggle for “Folkhem” Christianity: The Role of Christian Education in the Emergence of the Democratic School, 1920–1969*. She has a background as a subject teacher in history and religion and has previously taught courses in the core curriculum of educational science in the various teacher education programs at Uppsala University. Her research interests include changes in Christian and religious education, church history, secularization, and the pedagogy of religion.
