About the researcher
Magnus Kristoffersson is Associate Professor of Legal Science. His research interests range from traditional income taxation to the field of digitalisation and law, where he examines how digital platforms, artificial intelligence, and blockchain technology affect the tax system and tax administration. Magnus also conducts interdisciplinary research in collaboration with scholars from several different fields.
He is the initiator and founder of the research consortium FIRE, which focuses on the digitalisation of financial information, and co-founder of the international research consortium Mis(sing) Information, which addresses fake news and related phenomena. In addition, Magnus is responsible for research development within the European University alliance NEOLAiA.
Magnus Kristoffersson holds an LL.M. degree (1992) and a PhD in Tax Law (1999) from Uppsala University. He also has extensive professional experience as a practising lawyer in the field of mergers & acquisitions.
At the University of Gävle, Magnus is tasked with developing research activities and research collaborations at the Department of Business and Economics.”
