Recognition of Credits for Studies Abroad

If you have been an exchange student through the University of Gävle, your studies abroad must be documented with credit recognition or an equivalent assessment in Ladok.

Please check that your studies are correctly documented before applying for your degree certificate. Please also enclose certified copies of the marks, certificates and/or diplomas you received abroad.

It is important that the documentation clearly shows:

• which courses have been recognised
• the date on which the recognition took place
• who carried out the recognition
• the marks you received for your studies abroad

If you have studied independently in another country, you must send certified copies of any grades, certificates and/or diplomas you have obtained abroad, along with details of the courses you wish to have recognised.

We accept documents issued in Swedish and English. If your documents are issued in any other language, you must ensure that they are translated by an authorised translation agency.

If you hold a foreign qualification that is to form the basis of your degree, this should be evaluated by the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR).
