Targeted Study Support
If you have a disability, you should, as far as possible, be able to study at the University of Gävle on equal terms as others. You have the opportunity to apply for targeted study support. You apply via Nais and here you will find some examples of support that you can receive and how to apply.
Apply for targeted study support
If you have a permanent disability that affects your studies, you may be entitled to targeted study support during your period of study. The support is tailored to your individual needs and aims to provide good conditions for you to complete your studies. The goal is to ensure that all students have the opportunity to study on equal terms.
We recommend that you apply for support well in advance, preferably when you have been admitted to your programme. At the start of the term, there may be waiting times to book an appointment with the coordinator and receive a decision on support.
How the application process works
- Apply via the national system Nais. Attach a doctor's certificate stating your disability. You can upload a photo of the certificate with your phone. Note: The doctor's certificate must be in English or Swedish.
- The coordinator for study support will contact you to discuss appropriate support measures.
- The coordinator makes a decision where the support measures are outlined.
- The support measures are available to you via Nais.
- You need to show the support measures to your teachers and examiners at the beginning of each course, when you discuss your support with them.
Never send sensitive personal data about yourself such as medical certificates with health information, names and personal identification numbers to the university by email.
If you encounter problems with your application, use Chrome as your browser and check the size of the files you attach.
Examples of support available for students with disabilities
