About the researcher
Mona Jabbari conducts research on walking and micromobility system, integrating city, people, and system perspectives to promote sustainable and inclusive mobility. Her work examines the interaction between built environments, mobility services, and user perceptions and experiences, with a particular focus on justice, equity, and accessibility in urban transport. She explores how walking and micromobility (such as e-bikes, cargo bikes, and shared mobility solutions) can contribute to reducing car dependency, improving public space, and supporting the 15-minute city concept. Her research combines quantitative and qualitative methods such as spatial modeling, pedestrian network analysis, behavioral studies, and participatory approaches to understand how mobility network can be designed and managed to serve diverse communities, including vulnerable groups. By bridging technical and human-centered perspectives, her work emphasizes the importance of inclusivity in mobility planning and policy-making.
