About the researcher
Åsa Hedlund received her PhD in 2024 and works as a senior lecturer at the Division of Nursing Science. Her areas of interest include neurodiversity in relation to health, scientific methodology, existential questions, and psychology. Åsa is originally a trained district nurse.
Åsa's research primarily focuses on neurodiversity in relation to health, working life, and healthcare. Åsa is the project leader for a project investigating the working life of employees with ADHD or autism in the healthcare and social care sectors. Åsa is also the project leader for a project examining the needs of neurodivergent individuals within somatic healthcare. Furthermore, Åsa is involved in a four-year project on autistic flourishing, funded by the Swedish Research Council, conducted in collaboration with Karlstad University and Karolinska Institutet. Åsa also supervises doctoral students in the field of neurodiversity and working life.
