Free Software for students

As a student at the University of Gävle, you have free access to several software programs during your studies.

Microsoft Office

As a student at the University of Gävle you have the opportunity to install Microsoft Office on up to five computers. The Office package includes Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and Onenote.

Affinity Software

Affinity offers a photo processing program, a vector-based illustration program and a layout/publishing program for you as a student at Gävle University. These are alternative programs to Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign

Manuals can be borrowed from the University's library.

Software from Autodesk

Autodesk offers free software to students. To access the programs you need to create an account on their website and state that you are studying at the University of Gävle.

Software from Mathworks

Mathworks offers the software Matlab and Simulink, including all toolboxes. The University's licence also includes instructional videos and self-study courses as well as help and support from Mathworks.

Software from Microsoft Azure Dev Tools

Microsoft Imagine provides some Microsoft software for you as a student at the University. You log in to their website with your user account (username@hig.se) from Gävle University.

Create Surveys with Sunet Survey

The web-based applikation Sunet Survey allows you to create surveys for essays and other work. You can create surveys both online and on paper.

NOTE: The default system language is in Swedish, but you can easily change language. Click on your name in the top right and choose "Välj språk" and then select "Engelska" if you wish it to be in English.

While working on your survey, an icon of a book with a question mark is available in the top right corner. Click on it to get help with the specific function you are working on.
